Helping people make positive changes in their lives
Home PageAbout Us

My office is a private practice of psychotherapy serving individuals and families.  I offer an individual approach to each client.  I accept most insurances, and sliding scale for uninsured clients.  I also offer neurofeedback and EMDR. I can refer you to a medication prescriber if we find that medication is an integral part of your treatment.

Some types of therapy rely on reducing discomfort, and don't necessarily involve delving into "ancient history" to help.  Other models of treatment include a look back at your "family-of-origin" (parents or family/others who raised you) and how their family style continues to influence you now.  I tend to rely on a "systems approach" which puts emphasis on attention to social forces (family, friends, school, work, community) that impact people's lives.

My office is in Hadley, Massachusetts, just off Route 9, at 8 Goffe Street, and has free on-site parking. Call 413-531-4492 to make an appointment. Or, you can email me at DAPalmerLICSW@charter.net.

Directions:

From Amherst, follow Route 9 past "the malls" on your left, into Hadley Center. You will come to the intersection of Route 9 and Route 147 (the Hadley Library is on the right).  Continue for approximately 1/4 mile, and take the next right - Goffe Street, across from the Hadley High School.  The office is the long brick building on the right. There is additional parking in the back. Enter via the center door on Goffe Street, and have a seat in the waiting room.

From Northampton and I-91, cross over the Coolidge Bridge into Hadley. Continue past Essalon Cafe and Cumberland Farms.  As you approach the High School on the right, look for Goffe Street on your left. Take this left on Goffe street. (If you miss Goffe Street, take a left at the light at Rt. 47, and then your next left onto Railroad Street, and Goffe is on the left).   The office is the long brick building on the right as you come down the street from Route 9. There is additional parking in the back. Enter via the center door on Goffe Street, and have a seat in the waiting room.
